{"id":123119,"date":"2026-07-17T16:55:37","date_gmt":"2026-07-17T16:55:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.taylorroot.com\/job\/legal-counsel-12-month-ftc-fashion-retail\/"},"modified":"2026-07-17T16:55:38","modified_gmt":"2026-07-17T16:55:38","slug":"legal-counsel-12-month-ftc-fashion-retail-123119","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/srgroup.highrise.digital\/nl\/job\/legal-counsel-12-month-ftc-fashion-retail-123119\/","title":{"rendered":"Legal Counsel (12 month FTC) &#8211; Fashion\/ Retail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;re partnering with a well-known UK retail business to appoint a <strong>Legal Counsel<\/strong> on a <strong>12-month fixed-term contract<\/strong> to support a busy and commercially focused in-house legal team.<\/p>\n<p>This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer looking for broad exposure across commercial contracts, intellectual property, consumer law and ESG matters within a fast-paced retail environment.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll join a dynamic, friendly, collaborative legal team of 4 and have excellent autonomy and supportive colleagues to ensure you get excellent exposure and development opportunities.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, you will advise on a wide variety of legal matters, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements<\/li>\n<li>Advising on technology, SaaS and supplier contracts<\/li>\n<li>Supporting intellectual property matters, including design and trade mark reviews<\/li>\n<li>Providing advice on advertising, marketing and consumer protection issues<\/li>\n<li>Advising on ESG and sustainability-related initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Building strong relationships with procurement, marketing, product and commercial teams throughout the organisation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>About You<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You are likely to be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Qualified in England &amp; Wales OR another common law jurisdiction<\/li>\n<li>Approximately 3-7 years&#8217; PQE (applications from outside this range will also be considered)<\/li>\n<li>Experienced in commercial contract drafting and negotiation<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable working independently and managing stakeholders directly<\/li>\n<li>In-house trained or looking to make a move from private practice into a broad commercial role<\/li>\n<li>Interested in developing further exposure to ESG and intellectual property matters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What&#8217;s on Offer?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>12-month fixed-term contract<\/li>\n<li>Hybrid working (2 days per week in the London office)<\/li>\n<li>Broad, high-profile in-house legal exposure<\/li>\n<li>Opportunity to work within a collaborative and highly regarded legal team<\/li>\n<li>Meaningful involvement in ESG and strategic business projects<\/li>\n<li>Salary is dependant on PQE &#8211; \u00a380,000 is the very maximum for this position but if you are outside of this we would still encourage applications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Start date:<\/strong> September 2026 or sooner<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;d like to learn more, please get in touch directly for a confidential discussion or apply to this role to schedule a call.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;font-size: 8pt\">Please note our advertisements use PQE\/salary levels purely as a guide.
